No matter what
your level or your experience
with Pilates is, it is important you start your practice at the beginning. All of our instructors recommend
you familiarize yourself with the fundamental exercises for fitness.
Always check with your physician before starting
any exercise program.
Pilates Anytime recommends that, if possible, our students occasionally take classes at a local studio with a
certified Pilates instructor. Attending a local class allows the instructor to give you important information about
the exercises as they relate to your body and its needs.
Fundamental Exercises No matter what your fitness level, it is important you start your practice at
the beginning. All of our instructors recommend you familiarize yourself with the fundamental exercises. The
fundamental exercises are movements that form the basis of many classic Pilates exercises. A general understanding
of these exercises will help you progress in your practice safely and efficiently.
The Basics Class Take a class where the fundamental exercises are demonstrated correctly and up
close for focused viewing. Then, take the class with the instructor teaching a real student so you can see and hear
important corrections that may apply to you. Continue taking the fundamental classes until you feel ready for
additional challenge (1-3 weeks).
Find a teacher- Take Level 1/2 Classes with All the Instructors Pilates Anytime is proud to have
instructors with varied backgrounds reflecting different styles of Pilates. Each instructor brings their life
experience, personality, and a wealth of knowledge about Pilates to class. Once you have reviewed, practiced and
feel comfortable with the fundamental exercises, we recommend you take a Level 1/2 class from each of our
instructors. We are confident that you will find an instructor that suits your needs. Depending on your goals, you
may decide to stay with level 1/2 classes indefinitely . These classes can be quite challenging and achieve great
results when practiced consistently. Plan on taking the level 1/2 classes for at least the first three to six
months of your practice.
Remember, every body is unique and will respond to the demands placed upon it differently. It is
important that you listen to your body and allow yourself to practice Pilates in a manner that is challenging yet
supportive both physically and mentally.
Pilates, when done methodically and consistently offers tremendous rewards. If you are an otherwise healthy
individual looking to strengthen your core, improve posture, tone your muscles and feel more energized, your
Pilates practice should include a minimum of 2 classes a week. You won't be disappointed.
Once you move up to the next level of class, we encourage you to revisit the fundamental exercises and classes
periodically. As your body begins to transform, you are likely to discover deeper levels of intensity and precision
in the basics.
